Introduction

S.N.Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata was established in the year 1986 as an autonomous institution by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Located in the peaceful environs of Salt Lake, Kolkata, S.N.Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata has been a center for promoting quality research activities in the fields of basic sciences. The Institute offers Ph.D. Programs in a number of areas. Research scholars at SNBNCBS Kolkata enjoy working in an atmosphere that is fully conducive to their academic pursuits.

Admissions and Eligibility at SNBNCBS Kolkata

• Astrophysics
• For admissions to the post B.Sc. Integrated Ph.D. Program at S.N.Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, candidates with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at the degree level will be eligible to compete. Selections will be made on the basis of a written test followed by interview.
• For admissions to the post B.Sc.program in Physical and Chemical Sciences, candidates will be shortlisted on basis of merit in the JAM Examination followed by interview.
