In the years 1972, a small band of progressive agriculturalists led by Thiru. T.N. Palanisamy, Thiru. V.K. Lakshmanan and Thiru. M. Aruchami - strong adherents to the principles of Swami Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi, set out to start a College with a difference.
Their lofty purpose so deeply inspired 16,000 agriculturalists, that they voluntarily came forward and contributed 2 years of dividend money from their savings towards the initial corpus of the College. Texmo. Thiru. Ramaswami gave further shape to
the dream with his munificence as a principal donor. Dr. N.S. Palaniappan and Thiru. R. Somasundaram, social minded men extended their dedicated support.
