Jadavpur University is a State University under the State of West Bengal. Its parent institution was set up by the National Council of Education, Bengal in 1906. After India's Independence, the institution was converted to a University under the first Jadavpur University Act in 1955, and recognised by the University Grants Commission the same year . Jadavpur University has been declared as the Centre of Excellence in Mobile Computing and Communication by the University Grants Commission. The university has also been accredited with the status of five star by the National Assessment and Accreditation Committee |
