National Institute of Technology Warangal or NIT Warangal is a public technical and research university located in Warangal, India. It is recognised as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India.
The institute was renamed as the National Institute of Technology, Warangal in 2002.
The Regional Engineering College, Warangal was the first to be established (in 1959) among the chain of 15 Regional Engineering Colleges in the country.
It is located over a span of 248 acres adjacent to the Hyderabad-Warangal highway at a distance of 3 Kms.
NIT Warangal was ranked 21st among engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2023 and 53rd overall.
