Italian institutions invite Indian students!- 27-Apr-2018

The foreign affairs ministry of Italy has invited Indian students to study, train and to carry out researches in Italy.


The Italian government provides various grants and scholarships for foreign students to pursue higher education as well as to carry out researches as a part of international cooperation to develop culture, science and technology alongside developing domestic economy. 


Now, Indian students can apply for grants for the year 2018 -2019.   The Ministry of Human Resource Development, India has also agreed for such grants that are provided for three, six and nine months.  


Qualification: To apply for Laurea which is equivalent to Under Graduation studies, it is important to have completed 12 years of schooling. To apply for Post Graduation program, it is necessary to have completed a UG degree in a recognized institution. For Phd studies its mandatory to have obtained consent letter from the particular Italian educational institution. For studies related to Italian language and culture it is important to possess a certification on Italian language.


Age limitation: Should be within 28 years of age for Post Graduation program. For Phd programs, must be within 30 years of age and for research programs with supervision should be less than 40 years of age.                  


Programs: With grants for six to nine months duration, they offer programs in Biology, Architecture, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Engineering in Electricity and Environment and Nanotechnology. For studies such as Culture and Italian language the duration is three months.


Note: If studied in any other foreign country through scholarship or by spending own money for more than six months, they must have lived continuously in India for two years.  If this eligibility criterion is not met, then their application will be rejected.


Fellowship period:  1, October, 2018 30, September, 2019    


Fellowship amount: For those Indian students joining through fellowship schemes will be exempted from tuition fess. They also will be provided 900 Euros (Rs 72, 000) every month for miscellaneous expenses. Further, they also will be provided with insurance coverage for medical as well as accident.
