Researches highly necessary for social development!- 4-May-2018
Life science department that was started in Sept, 2013 at our educational institution, now has 19 professors with most of them coming from America who have prior experience of working in various educational institutions.
To be brief about our research work, in the last four years we have applied for patent for 19 new findings, submitted 47 research papers. Apart from these, we send aspiring students to carry out internships at John Hopkins educational institution in America according to an agreement that we have with them. Similarly, we have signed agreements with 7 foreign universities and 16 industries. So far, we have received 1.5 crore as grants from institutions like ICMR, DST, DBT.
If only researches are carried in all the spheres of science, we can bring out new findings. Likewise, researches carried out in Life Science are highly important for social development. Recently, students of our college have come out with new technology that can preserve fruits for 20 days without decaying.
Apart from this, our students are carrying out researches to bring out Band Aid from Polymer and Nano material, improve agricultural output using bio stimulator and the advanced technology to treat all types cancers.
Presently, there is a strong belief in the society that opportunities for Bio technology are not good. Nothing would prevail, without Biotechnology. This is a wonderful domain where there are lot opportunities. Bio technology has lot of opportunity in Biotechnology industry, Pharmaceutical industry and at research centres. It could also empower to start entrepreneurship on their own.
Now, we encourage our students to take up entrepreneurship. As a result, they have launched 15 start ups.
In the present situation there is lot of scope to start new biotechnology related companies.
If the concept is really good, a new company could be started under Make In India scheme. Obtaining funds to the amount of 2 Lakhs to 20 lakhs is possible. If the idea is really good and takes of well, it is also possible to get 20 lakhs to 1 Crore as funding. It is the primary important responsibility of a teacher to create such opportunities to students.
