Jamia Milia Islamia, a renowned Central University in South Delhi, was started in the year 1920 at Aligarh in Uttrapradesh. It was migrated to Delhi and was given the status of Central University in the year 1988. This University offers the following courses:

Though there are no colleges functioning under it, there are plenty of undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered in this University. The King of Saudi Arabia, during his visit to India in the year 2006, donated nearly 150 crores to this University to build a Library. Bollywood Actor Sharukhan, Cricketer Shewag and Journalist Barka Dutt are the old students of this university. Well-known sports competitions like Ranchi Trophy Cricket are held in the ground of this University
