GATE is an important examination towards obtaining programmes related to Management studies offered by Indian Institute of Management that functions under the aegis of Human Resource Development Ministry.
As this exam is an important one like many other exams to get in to Management studies, it requires meticulous approach.
For the forth coming academic year, this common entrance examination is scheduled to be held on Nov 25th .
Below are few tips on how to prepare for this exclusive exam:
About Examination: To be answered in Objectives manner, this exam is conducted through online mode.
Though the exam is online mode, however some answers need to be typed. Wrong answers in the objective sections carry negative marks.
With this exam for 180 minutes, 100 questions are being asked in 4 sections. In the three hour exam, candidates need to answer 60 questions.
In the verbal and reading comprehension, candidates need to answer 22 questions out of the 34 questions asked. This section carries 66 marks.
In the Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning section, out of the given 32 questions, 15 must be answered. Total marks allotted in this section are 45.
Finally, in the quantitative section, 23 questions need to be answered out of the given 34 questions. This section carries totally 69 marks.
Sample question papers: With only few more weeks to go for the exam, candidates need make judicious self analysis, pruning weak areas; will help the candidates to obtain high scores.
Time Management: Its highly essential to learn time management by training to write all the questions with dexterity. Its not just answering questions in time; training towards accuracy is a must.
Make a candid assessment of time taken for each question, then totally for the entire paper. Work on improving speed. Dont keep writing the exam until last minute. Instead plan in such as way to have 10 solid minutes to go through the answers. Keep in mind that some questions would take long time to answer.
If the GATE is approached with composed mind and precision, possibility to crack it in the first attempt is realistic.
