The National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), conducted across the country measures the aptitude of the applicant for the study of Architecture. The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to Architectural study.


NATA makes an assessment of drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity, Mathematics at 10+2 level and critical thinking ability that have been acquired by the candidate over the past few years and are related to the specific field of study.


The NATA ensures that the eligibility criteria for admission to five year Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) degree course, as prescribed by Council of Architecture (CoA) and duly approved by the Central Government, are strictly adhered to and followed all over the country in Architectural Institutions.


CoA conducts NATA twice a year, giving opportunity to those students who miss out the first test due to some reason or other and to improve upon their NATA score in the first test by re-appearing the second test. Both the first and second test will be conducted on a different date as a one-day online examination all over the country. The test shall consist of two parts: Part A comprising Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Mathematics and general aptitude which is to be answered online and Part B is on drawing, which is paper based. Scores of this test is eligible only for one year time.


Course: Bachelor of Architecture


Eligibility:  Passed 10+2 scheme of examination with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate at 10+2 level examination; (those appearing the 10+2 exam with PCM subjects in the current year may also provisionally appear in the exam.


Age criteria: Must have completed 17 years of age.


Exam Pattern:  Test is conducted online mode for 200 marks with 3 hours duration time. General section comprises Mathematics and General knowledge for 120 marks. Rest of the 80 marks is awarded to test drawing skills of the applicant. There are no negative marks for wrong answers.


How to apply: Students can apply for NATA only through its official website. Using the application number provided while applying as well as with a specific password, students can get to know about the test details and download hall ticket.
