Study In France!-

In the recent years, demand for overseas education has gone-up many fold with contemporary generation wanting to possess a degree from a country that holds high reputation in the education sector for a successful career and future.

In this scenario, the demand for Higher Education in France is also climbing up.

Here are some finer tips on how to make it to an educational institute in France. 

Every candidate willing to study in France need to furnish set of documents that include online CampusFrance form (implemented from June 2007), application form to institute, CV, statement of purpose, academic certificates (10th, 12th, Degree mark sheets etc),  2 Recommendation letters (academic and/or professional),  Work experience if any,   Language competence certificate if required, portfolio if required (for design, architecture etc) and application fees.

Closing dates for various programmes in France are marked for different parts of the year. The due date for Bachelors programmes (including architecture) is 31st January every year, Masters programme in public universities would go up to May end to mid June, Masters programme in Professional Colleges would close by end of May, MBAs take place all though the year and PhDs too take place throughout the year.                                                                                      

Most courses commence in September-October and very few courses begin in January.

With nearly 300 scholarships set aside annually for different grades, Indian students are provided with various scholarships/ Financial Aid.

Scholarship list:

1) Incentive scholarship 615-750 euros per month all disciplines- Nearly 200 Nos
2) Eiffel Scholarships of about 1100 euros per month- About 20-25 Nos
3) Ile de France region’s scholarships of 10500 euros annually - to 15 students.
4) Corporate scholarships offered by Thales, Orange, Air liquide, BNP Paribas, DCNS, Michelin, Total, Alten Neemarana Foundation , Krishnakriti Foundation,Safran, Accor
5)   French social security gives all students major health benefits at low costs
Network of CROUS university hostels are where most international students are lodged. Costs vary from 130 to 250 euros per month.

The French Government also provides lodging assistance allowance to all International students that may be up to 30% of the total rent.

Tuition costs & Living Expenses:

Student Visa: Two step process:

A complete visa file should contain, Visa form, Offer letter, CV, Academic certificates, birth certificate, insurances proof, accommodation proof, air ticket reservation, passport size photos, financial justification = (tuition fee) + (600 Euros per month* duration of course in months), passport

Step 1:  After creation of the CEF file, the CEF interview will be scheduled by telephone or email in one of the 9 cities across India. Online registration on www.india-campusfrance.org

Step 2:  The student is then to present himself personally at the consulate on a given date to deposit the passport to establish the visa.
Student visa fee: 60 Euros

The time taken for establishing a French study visa: 15 working days
