Priyadarshni Academy's literary awards on March 20- 19-Mar-2013
Mumbai: The 29th literary awards instituted by Priyadarshni Academy in the memory of late Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray and other eminent personalities will be presented to winners on March 20 here. The awards carry a purse of Rs 25,000 and a trophy each. The Balasaheb Thackeray Memorial Marathi Literary Award will be be conferred on Suresh Dwadashivar for his contribution to Marathi literature, Chairman of Priyadarshni Academy Nanik Rupani announced in a release here. Kundan Vyas will be honoured with the Chandaben Mohanbhai Patel Academy Gujarati Literary Award while Kisharam Lekhraj Rupani Memorial Hindi Literary Award will be be conferred on Damodar Khadse. Laxmi Nari Pohani Sindhi Literary Award will be conferred on Jagdish Lachhani for his contribution to Sindhi Literature, the release added. On the occasion, the Priyadarshni Academy, will felicitate eminent musician Ghansham Vaswani for his outstanding contribution to Sindhi music, with a memento and a purse of Rs 10,000. Priyadarshni Acadamy will also present over 200 scholarships of Rs 10,000 each to deserving and needy students including disadvantaged students of engineering, infotech, medicine, education and architecture, the release added.
