The Minority Groups International Organization M R G in London is a private organization that functions to establish the privileges of the tribals religion as well as language minorities rights throughout the world.  This organization has recently released a report with the following aspects:

  • Some 20 years ago the world leaders took an Oath that they would work hard to provide education for all without any discrimination of color, caste, religion, and gender - this is yet to be fulfilled
  • More than half of the children who discontinue studies halfway are only minority groups.  Nearly 100 croresof people in the world cut their studies midway.  Among them 50 to 70% belong to the minority group.
  • In the developing countries like India, Pakistan, Bangla Desh, Ethiopia, Kenya and Nigeria, there is a large variation between the majority and minority groups in getting Education.
  • That by 2015, all in the world should receive education is the general objective.  To achieve this, the entire world should focus all its education related efforts on the minority groups.
  • Though it is generally alleged that children stop education halfway due to poverty, the significant reason for this is mostly, religion and  societal divisions.
  • It is the lawful duty of the Government to provide education to both the Minority and Denotified Tribes.  However, the Government instead of properly understanding this, uses it only for Statistics.  Due to this, societal and religios problems arise.
  • The prime problem of the Minority groups is that their children do not get adequate formal education. Since quality education is not available to many, there remains discriminations and other dismal conditions in the society.
  • Among the economically backward families of the minority group, only 4% of women obtain eduction upto 16 years. This condition prevails throughout the world.
  • In the conference on World Education organized by UNESCO in the year 1999, nearly 150 countries and 150 Social Service organizations participated.  They took a pledge that all the economically backward people of the world will be educated by 2000 A.D.
However, though good signs for changes in the field of Education at the Global level are visible,  it is an undeniable fact that education till today,  is unattainable to the Poor and Minority of all countries.
