Siddha: Siddha, a popular medical practice of Tamil Nadu, is much preferred by students.

Offered as B.S.M.S � Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery, the duration of this study is also 5 1/2 years.

The core principle of Siddha medicine is that Air, Heat and Water controls blood, plasma, muscles, Fat, Bones, Nerves and other living organism that functions as body as well as Mind.

Subjects taught in Siddha are Bio-chemistry, Micro organism, Physiology, Anatomy, Diseases, Forensic Medicine, Dental and Dermatology.  

Its possible to work as Siddha doctor in Private, Government hospitals as well as Primary health centres. After sufficient experience, they can have their own clinic. They can also pursue studies in General Medicine, Pharmacology, Pediatrics, Diseases and Toxicology.
