Eligibility:
To join Ph.D. (Science) should have passed National Level Fellowship NET-JRF/SRF of various funding agencies (UGC/CSIR/DBT/ICMR/BINC/INSPIRE/GPAT or other equivalent fellowships)
Ph.D. programme at CSIR-IHBT should have Masters in : (i). Biological Sciences- Agriculture Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Botany/ Entomology/ Forestry and Environmental Sciences/ Food Science/ Floriculture/ Genetics and Plant Breeding/ Microbiology/ Nanotechnology/ Plant Pathology/Plant Physiology/ Pharmaceutical sciences (Pharmacology & Pharmacology and Toxicology)/ Zoology/ Human Genetics / Statistics (for Ph.D. in Bioinformatics) and (ii). Chemical Sciences-Organic Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry/Inorganic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry.
B.E./ B.Tech./ M.Tech. Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Food Science with valid National or other equivalent Fellowships are also eligible.

The post graduate students can do six months project work at the Institute with limited bench space available for undertaking project work as a part of post-graduate degree.
