It is speculated that by 2012, the value of Medical Tourism Department will be 10,000 crores. There is never a downfall to the medical field. There has been a steady increase in the number of both the Government as well as private hospitals. Since Medical Tourism has also been upsurged, specialists are ever in demand in this field. Hence, the Institute of Clinical Research in Delhi has introduced an MBA course in Health Care Management.
In this two year course, during the first year, along with the studies in Administrative ability, and Health Rules and Regulations, lessons on Medical Terminology and types of diseases are taught. In the second year, the students can choose either Medical Tourism or Hospital Operation Management
Hospitals, Hospital Erecting organizations, Tourist organizations, and Aerodromes also require such expertise. Experts indicate that in future there will be a sure demand for jobs in this field.
Those who have completed this course, can work as Advisors, Medical Supervisors, Health Care Executives, Hospital Project Executives, Chief Medical Officers and Consultants. They can be the Administrators in Hospital Operation and in Hospital Material Management. They can even be teachers.
After the studies, one can earn upto Rs. 50,000/-pm. Experienced people can earn in lakhs. To join the course, one must have a degree either in Science, Pharmacy or Medicine. It is enough to have a degree in any discipline, for those who desire to choose Medical Tourism in the second year.
