Charles Wallace Scholarship ! - Part 3- 17-Sep-2021

Font Size :

Each year there are about 1520 grants awarded for short-term research purpose. Primarily , these grants are for academic research scholars, however, professionals working in the arts or heritage conservation sectors may also apply to do short-term research.

CWIT provides 1,400 to each researcher, towards the costs of their stay in the UK. The funding is usually enough for a period of about three weeks. The grants are payable in the UK and do not cover the international travel costs. Please note that the grantees will also be expected to cover their own travel costs within India and are required to obtain the appropriate level of insurance cover for travel and medical emergencies.

Applicants planning to stay in the UK for more than three weeks will need to supplement the CWIT grant with other funding.

CWIT also offers a few grants each year to Indian students in the final stages of their doctorates at UK universities who can give us an assurance that they intend to return to India. These grants are small (600) and intended to help fill a funding gap. To be successful in securing a CWIT grant you will need to show evidence of funding/income from other sources.
