The School of Distance Education, Karpagam University was established in 2009 after getting due approval of joint commitee of UGC-AICTE-DEC. THe main objective of the School of Distance Education is to cater to the higher education aspirations of the under privileged and disadvantaged sections of the society who could not enter the portals of formal system of higher education due to social and economic circumstances.
