A few US educationists are conducting various researches with regards to the relationship between the education of children and that of their parents.  Of these, the research of Pamela Davis Kean, an expert in Psychology at Michigan University provides some valid information.

When the students reach the stage of higher education, the parents education  remains as  a very important aspect in the development of their language skills and educational growth.  It is understood that higher is the parents education, better is the mark-scoring of their wards.  To conduct this research, the income of the parents, their marital status and such other features were avoided as far as possible.  It was clearly identified that the children of well-educated parents did excellently well in higher studies.

The focal point of view of this research was to see whether there existed any link between the parents education and that of the child from 8 years of age upto 48 years till he becomes a man.  Similarly, the 3 year old childs language skill and his preparedness to school-going were investigated in terms of the mothers behavioral pattern.  In this research also, it was seen that children whose parents have had high school studies excelled well.  It was found out in the investigation that more than the income, the educational qualification of the parents was the basic factor responsible for the educational success of their children.

This research establishes that since the well-educated parents could take more care and spend time in their childrens studies and reading, the language skill of the children gets developed and becomes excellent.  In these days when both the husband and wife have to go for work, they would like to put into practice a controlled and disciplined environment at home. In todays  situation, the eating habits and sleeping time have to be compulsorily scheduled and seriously practised.  Hence, the children have neither leisure nor light moments.

Researches were taken up in this regard too.  Though the common observation is that it is wrong to convert the children into automatons, the children are haplessly pushed into an unrestricted habits such as watching television programs and playing video games. Attention is not given to good aspects like enjoying nature, playing with fellow- children and meditating. Since this is likely to affect their studies too, the research recommends that it is good for the children to be put in a disciplined, programmed way of life
