Bhubaneswar: Dehradun-headquartered Doon International School (DIS), a co-educational institute having both residential and day boarding facilities, unveiled its centre here.

Third of its kind after Dehradun and Mohali, the branch at Sijua here spread over 1.55 lakh sq ft area, was opened with an aim to create best talents in the state, DIS authorities said.
 
Like its parent school, the new centre is equipped prepare the students in accordance with the standards prevalent in the best schools of the country and abroad, they said adding the curriculum is based on syllabus laid down by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi and almost 90 per cent of faculties hail from outside the state.
 
DIS, Bhubaneswar will set a benchmark in technology- oriented education. DIS is truly 'International' and the spirit boasts of a diverse student body from different countries and regions of the world, said eminent author and columnist Chetan Bhagat, who was here for the launch.
 
Chairman of DIS, Dehradun, D S Mann said DIS always focused on imparting quality education to students and exuded confidence that with its best team of teaching professionals and state-of-the-art infrastructure it would have an edge over its counterparts.
 
The fourth centre of DIS will come up at Musoorie, he said.
 
"Our primary goal is to provide knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to produce well-adjusted and self-confident youth for academic, social and life challenges," said Principal R Ramesh said.
 
About 200 students have been enrolled starting from pre-standard up to standard-VIII so far and it is expected to cross one thousand this year, he said.
 
The infrastructure of DIS includes, AC classroom,  digital Boards, hostel, swimming pool, canteen in about 20,000 sq ft area, multi-gym, tennis court, basket ball, football and cricket besides martial art training facilities for students.
 
Besides, economical tuition fees, doubt classes, smart classes and transport make DIS a better option for prospective students of Odisha, he said.
