Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training functions under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy, Government of India.
Objective:
The institution aims to develop the human resources to cultivate a healthy and creative outlook to meet the challenges arising of fishing and commercial maritime transport. Accordingly, it offers various courses and trainings aimed at developing skills in these area of specialisation.
Campuses: Headquartered in Kochi, the institution has branches at Chennai and Visakhapatnam.
Bachelor's Degree: B.F.Sc, Bachelor of Fisheries Science - Nautical Science
Duration: 4 years - 8 semesters
Campus: Kochi
Eligibility: Must have passed class 12 in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 50% marks. For SC/ ST students it is enough to have passed the above subjects and class 12 examinations. Students who are currently writing the Plus 2 exam can also apply.
Age Limit: Must be between 17 and 20 years old, as of October 1st.
Selection Procedure: Admission will be based on CET, a general entrance examination and academic performance.

Duration: 2 years

Educational Qualification: Must have passed class 10 with at least 40% marks in Mathematics and Science courses.
Age Limit: Must be between 15 and 20 years old as of August 1st.
Scholarship: For students selected for VNC and MFC courses Rs 1,500 per month is provided as a stipend. After completing training Rs 20,500 per month is given and Rs 2,500 is provided as one time for uniform.
Selection Procedure: Admission will be on the basis of General Entrance Examination (CET).
