The Medical Laboratory Technology field is the backbone of every countrys Medical security makeup.
Clinical testing laboratory play a very important role in the diagnosis of diseases.
In the effort to diagnose diseases, those working in a Medical Laboratories, through different tests, find out and provide very important information that the doctor would require to take crucial decision regarding the treatment process. Based on these reports, the doctors provide the right treatment to the patients.
To find out the existence of any bacteria, viruses or parasites in the human system they carry out tests. Providing vital details on the fluids, cells and tissues in the body through various tests, they are closely associated with the doctors.
Due to the advancement in scientific technology, mechanized testing tools, modern equipments and highly expensive equipments capable of doing several works at the same time are used in this field at the moment.
Diploma and Under Graduation courses are offered to all those willing to join the field of medical laboratory technology. The medical colleges and educational institutions in various parts of the country provide BSc in Medical Laboratory Technology. Those completing this study are offered BSc, M.L.T or BMLT degree.
Those willing to study this course should have completed plus two or its equivalent in science group. It takes three years to complete the B.M.LT course. Should have completed plus two to study Diploma in Medical laboratory Technology. The duration of this course is two years.
The minimum requirement for other certificate courses is to complete plus two. Certificate courses can be studied though colleges, universities and hospitals that works along with universities.
Opportunities:
We know that private sector hospitals are growing rapidly. Private hospitals, nursing homes, blood banks and pathological laboratories are increasing in great numbers. The need for laboratory technician is huge in these places.
The requirement for lab technicians with enough subject knowledge and work experience is very much felt. Medical Laboratory Technicians can also have research laboratories of their own. Similarly, they can also work as faculty in Medical colleges and Educational institutions.
Persons who have completed Medical Laboratory Technology get a reasonable salary in Private hospitals, clinics and research laboratories.
Skilled persons are welcomed everywhere. If those who run research laboratories of their own hard work and competency can bring good income. However, several research laboratories do not pay medical laboratory technicians properly.
