Jodhpur: The Rajasthan High Court ordered an interim stay on the state government's drive to merge schools and sought an affidavit from it on the relevance of the move.
While admitting the petitions filed by the three teachers of a government primary school, which was affected by the merger drive, justice Vineet Kothari stayed the transfer of the petitioners to other departments/schools and the merger of institutions until the appeals of all the affected teachers are not disposed of by the government.
The court has also sought an affidavit from the state government, asking if any detailed survey was carried out before the merger drive.
