Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, which excels in providing legal courses under which a School of Excellence in Law, 14 Government Law Colleges and 2 Private Colleges are functioning across the state.

The University offers legal education at its campus as well as through sixteen affiliated colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu located at Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Chengalpattu, Vellore and Salem.

Educational Institutions:

Honors studies at School of Excellence in Law, operational on the campus of Law University, Chennai, and regular law courses are offered at University affiliated Dr. Ambedkar Government Law Colleges in Chennai, Pudupakkam and Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Chengalpattu, Vellore, Villupuram, Dharmapuri, Ramanathapuram, Salem, Karaikudi, Namakkal, Private Colleges like Saraswati Law College - Tindivanam and Madhya Law College, Salem.

Eligibility: 12th pass with minimum 70% marks for Honors courses. 60 percent is sufficient for SC/ St candidates. To get admission in B.A.L.L.B must have passed with minimum 45% marks. 40 % SC and ST candidates. However there is no age limit.

Admission to three-year law courses and LLM is conducted based on UG scores. Further, admission is carried out based on reservation and special reservation rules.
