CAT - Common Admission Test (CAT), conducted by Indian Institute of Management, is a computer-based test to be taken up for admission towards postgraduate programs in management offered by the top educational institutes in the country.
Significance:
With a good score in this completely online examination, it is possible to get admission to Master's and Research Management programs offered at various IIMs and other private educational institutes across the country.
IIM Campuses:
IIM campuses are operational at Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Bodh Gaya, Kolkata, Indore, Jammu, Kashipur, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Sambalpur, Shillong, Sirmaur, Trichy, Udaipur, and Visakhapatnam.
Courses:
CAT scores are considered for courses such as P.G.P., P.G.P., -F.A.B.M., e.P.G.D., -A.B.A., M.B.A., E. MBA, PGPEM, PGBA, PGP- HRM, MSDSM, PGPEX , PGPTGM, Ph.D., FPM, EFPM, DPM, e-DPM and more.
Qualifications:
Must have completed a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. For students of SC/ST category 45% marks is sufficient.
Examination Centers:
The exam is conducted in all major cities across the country. Among a total of 150 centers, students can choose any 6 centers according to their choice.
Mode of Selection:
Candidates will be selected based on a written test, group discussion and interview. If necessary, the candidate's academic performance, work experience, gender, and other aspects will be taken into account.
