Secretary transferred following students' protest- 10-Jan-2015
Coimbatore: The septuagenarian secretary of a private teachers training institute near here has been transferred, following protests by students seeking his removal alleging sexual harassment, police said.
The management of St Peters College of Education (B Ed training) announced the transfer of the secretary, Joseph Felix (70), in circular sent to students today, police said.
About 80 girl students of the institute had staged a dharna in front of the college at Karumathampatti, alleging that Felix had showed the girls obscene pictures and videos.
A new person will be appointed for the post, the circular said.
