Today students decide what to study next and where to study right in college itself. Most students are increasingly opting for courses related to computers and modern technology.

In core engineering fields, though the pay is slightly lower at the initial stage, companies offer higher pay after 5- 10 years of experience. But today's students and parents don't have the patience to gather such experience. Hence, most of the students opt for departments related to computers. Its important that students should understand that even though IT sector job opportunities are abundant today, the opportunities for core engineering courses are also equally bright.

Transformation in the field of Engineering

In the present times, the field of engineering is witnessing drastic changes. Earlier mechanical engineering students studied only the specified departmental subjects. Currently, there is a situation where employment is available only by developing skills in other fields too. Therefore, students of today need to improve their multidisciplinary knowledge regardless of the course they are studying.

Small airports have increased in the last 12 years. Existing small airports are being expanded. India is going to buy more than 200 Boeing aircraft in the next 10 years as the central government is providing a lot of financial assistance to the 'Aviation' sector.  As more aircraft come into play, more and more cities will be connected. There is a possibility that there will be a huge revolution where common people will also travel by plane. Maintenance works will increase.  Projects like 'Make in India' will create an environment for manufacturing aircraft in India in the days to come.

As far as civil engineering is concerned, the entry-level job opportunities for diploma and engineering-level courses are just the same. Therefore, it is essential for engineering students to update their knowledge of the latest technology in civil engineering.

In an effort to encourage entrepreneurship, the central government provides various levels of assistance. Financial assistance is also provided through educational institutions. The Indian Government provides the most needed training and counseling to young entrepreneurs. In addition, private organizations provide financial support to students outstanding projects.
