Suicides have been rampant these days as students tend to give up too quickly on anything.
Students must understand even when there is no hope there is hope.
In the last 5 years, 98 students have committed suicide in various higher education institutions including IIT, IIM, NIT, IISER.
So far 20 suicide cases have been counted in 2023 alone. 21 cases were counted in 2018, 7 each from 2019 to 2021 and 24 cases last year.
This is an official disclosure of the Union Minister of State for Education Subhash Sarkar in the Rajya Sabha recently.
The University Grants Commission has issued guidelines on aspects to be followed by educational institutions to promote physical education, sports, health, mental and emotional well-being among students.
He also mentioned that the Ministry of Education is also taking various measures to reduce the stress of students.
