Overview:
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a nationally recognized examination conducted by CBSE, serving as a crucial benchmark for individuals aspiring to become teachers in various central government schools, such as Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya, and institutions under Union Territory administration. Additionally, state government schools, government-aided schools, and private schools consider CTET scores for teacher appointments.
Exam Structure:
CTET comprises two papers. Paper-1 focuses on the elementary section (1st to 5th class), while Paper-2 caters to the 6th to 8th class section. Candidates desiring to teach in both sections are required to attempt both papers.
Educational Qualifications:
Paper 1: 12th pass with a minimum of 50% marks and a completed Diploma in Elementary Education. Final year students are also eligible.
Paper 2: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a two-year diploma course in Elementary Education, or a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks and B.Ed. Final year B.Ed students can apply. Alternatively, 12th pass with a minimum of 50% marks and a four-year B.A.Ed. or B.Sc.Ed. Final year students are eligible as well.

Exam Details:
The CTET exam is a two and a half-hour test with 150 multiple-choice questions, totaling 150 marks. Questions are presented in English and Hindi. General category candidates must secure at least 60%, while SC/ST candidates should aim for a minimum of 55%.
