The Inlaks Shivdasani Fellowship Scheme aims to inspire and support young individuals in contributing to social change by offering enticing incentives.

Significance: In the prevailing economic climate in India, there is a prevailing expectation for young graduates to swiftly enter the workforce. This often hinders many talented individuals from actively participating in meaningful societal engagement. The fellowship is designed to empower and reassure young people, providing them the confidence and security to explore alternative paths and make independent choices while actively contributing to social change.

Beyond affording young participants the opportunity to work alongside a mentor of their choosing, the fellowship aims to cultivate a diverse worldview. The initiative spans various dimensions, including practical research, grassroots journalism, environmental initiatives, minority rights, public health, archiving, endangered arts, culture, language, and more.

Number of Fellowships: The scheme offers fellowships to 12 individuals across two categories.

Eligibility Criteria: 

Graduates: Born on or after January 1, 1994, and holding a Bachelor's degree.

Experienced Candidates: Born on or after January 1, 1989, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience.

Note: Those currently pursuing Ph.D. or research are ineligible to apply.

Fellowship Details: The incentive ranges from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 45,000 per month, depending on the candidate's location. 

An additional Rs. 20,000 may be provided for special projects. 

The incentives are granted for a total duration of 2 years.

In the initial phase, shortlisted candidates will be notified in the first week of March. Subsequently, they will undergo a final interview by the Selection Committee within 15 days. The details of selected candidates for the incentive will be declared in the last week of March.
