JoSAA: 3,893 seats for Round 3- 20-Jul-2015
Chennai: After the end of the second round of joint seat allocation for admissions to the 87 premier technical institutions across the country, 30,181 of the total 33,916 seats allotted were accepted by the candidates, while the remaining 3,893 vacant seats went to the next round of seat allocation. This 30,181 includes the 26,957 who has accepted seats allotted to them in the first round.
As per the revised schedule of the Joint Seat Allocation 2015 for 87 institutes comprising 18 IITs, ISM, 31 NITs, 18 IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and 18 Other-GFTIs, the third round of seat allocation began on July 18, following which the acceptance sessions are conducted.
In all, 33,989 candidates were allotted seats in Round One and of these, 26,597 candidates accepted the seats. This resulted in the overall vacancy of 7,383 seats at the end of Round 1. Of the 7,383 seats, 591 were in the 18 IITs and the ISM, 4,338 in the NITs, 826 in the IIITs and 1,628 in the Other GFTIs.
