In the current globalization scenario, widespread job opportunities are available for knowing several languages and having good translation skills. To know a few Indian or foreign languages helps the students with a number of job opportunities 

The field of translation is rapidly growing field. Few years ago, there was situation those knowing several languages could involve only in teaching profession. But, now it has become possible to get into several areas like translation, documentation and preparing explanatory note.

Companies that would like to develop their business in foreign countries too make use of translators service. Persons knowing Korean, Arabic languages are required in the field of tourism, health and educational. 

To accomplish as a translator it is necessary to be exceptional at least in two languages. It is easy to translate press notes, production tips, trading companies, factory letters and legal documents.

But, it is difficult to translate business agreements, memorandum of understanding and documents related software, engineering. Translators need to have sound knowledge in various fields, creative idea. While, translating books and advertisements should not exactly translate. Necessary changes can be made in it according to the places.  

There is also a good demand for interpreters. Translation companies also carry out works like, voice over, transcription and localization. Learning to translate in Tamil will obtain around Rs 100 per page. 

Translation cannot be considered an easy task. There are several minute things to follow and consumes lot of time. Interpretation and translation in some languages are found to be strenuous.

Particularly, the Japanese language is very tough. Most of the words have similar pronunciation, but differ in meaning and writing style.  Job opportunities are available in the field of education, technology, tourism and hospitality.

Translators are used in hotels to receive the foreign tourists and travelers. Persons involved in clothing export business in places like Kovai, Tirupur, Tirunelveli learn the Japanese language through distance education mode.

Persons with good skill and experience can earn around Rs 500 per page.  Interpreters can earn about Rs 2000/- in half a day. In universities like Annamalai University, translation is offered as course itself. Translation is an obligatory subject in all the language courses offered in Madras University. 

At present, the need for translators has increased. This field is very apt for part time workers. In this field, quality plays an important role. Customers do not accept poor quality translations. But, translation job would provide a good future if you are proficient in language.
