Chennai: Tamil Nadu Directorate of Examinations has extended time for registering details of candidates taking up National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), according to an official press release.
Extension of time is given up to September 30 for the exam that is scheduled to take place on November 8. Heads of schools have been asked to speed up the registering process. Further extension of date will not be provided, it stated.
Previously the last date for registering was fixed as August 31.
NTSE is conducted for Class X students
The examination consists of Mental Ability Test (MAT), Language Comprehensive Test and Scholastic Ability Test (SAT).
The exam facilitates to shortlist candidates to receive scholarship amount of Rs. 500/- per month towards higher studies.
The scholarships under the present scheme are awarded to the candidates for pursuing courses in sciences and social sciences up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine and engineering up to second-degree level subject to the fulfillment of the conditions.
