Sharjah to host international book fair next month- 7-Oct-2015

Dubai: Sharjah will host an international book fair next month which will witness the participation of 1,502 publishing houses from 64 countries, with 1.5 million books on display.

The 34th Sharjah International Book Fair will be attended by management expert Gurcharan Das, writer and critic K Sachidanandan, actor Mohanlal, lyricist and novelist Vairamuthu and writer and social activist Sudha Murthy.
 
The book fair, with 1.5 million books on display, will see participation of 1,502 publishing houses from 64 countries. The fair would be held from November 4 to 14.
 
A popular feature at the fair is the Cooking Corner which will host famous chefs and winners of prestigious awards.
 
Among these chefs are famous Indian chefs Tony Singh and Yemme Abdullah, Egyptian chef Hassan Kamal, Two Chinese chefs Amy Zhang and Julie Zhang (the Dumpling Sisters), Australian chef Jean Michel Raynaud and American chef Felicia Campbell.
 
The fair will see 33 seminars, spanning various literary and cultural topics, book reviews and discussions, focusing on topics such as media, translation, history and Arabic language.
 
Prominent cultural, intellectual and academic personalities will participate in various programmes.
 
Other foreign guests include Daren Shan, the author of bestselling books in Ireland, British author John McCarthy, Nigerian writer and Man Booker prize winner Ben Okri and Pakistani writer and poet Fatima Bhutto.
