Sambalpur gets second KV after 50 years- 13-Oct-2015

Sambalpur (Odisha): The much awaited second Kendriya Vidyalaya become operational here.  

The school is operating temporarily in the building of the Government Deaf and Dumb School in Burla area.  

“There are five classes from Class- I to Class-V in the current academic session. Each class has capacity to admit 40 students. A list of 198 students was released for the admission into the five classes of the school. 144 students have already taken admission,” Principal of the new Kendriya Vidyala, Sankarshana Nayak said.  

Expressing satisfaction over the existing infrastructure at the Government Deaf and Dumb School, the Principal said, “The sanction order about the posting of teachers is yet to be issued by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan. However, three teachers have already joined the school on deputation.” Nayak added.
 
Eight acres of land had already been sanctioned for construction of permanent building for the second Kendriya Vidylalaya he said.
 
“The land is located near the Government Deaf and Sumb School at Burla. The school will shift to the new location from the Government Deaf and Dumb School after the permanent building comes up,” he said.
 
The first Kendriya Vidyalaya, popularly known as Central School, was established  in the year 1965. The school is situated at the Bareipali area in the city.
