New Delhi: In a bid to improve communication and promote ties between India and China, an English magazine that presents Chinese account on relationship with India, has been launched at the World Book Fair.

The magazine, 'China-India Dialogue' published by China Pictorial, aims to establish better communication between the two countries with a view to resolve important issues between them.

The Beijing-based publication has attempted to cover issues pertaining to culture, tradition, tourism, academics, art, air quality etc.

Speaking at its launch here last evening, former ambassador to France and Germany T C A Rangachari stressed on the need to enhance the knowledge about China to Indians and hailed the move of China.

"So far as India is concerned the level and our information about China is very, very low. The Chinese know much more about India than we know about China. We need to very significantly enhance our knowledge about China and journals of this kind, since it is in English would give you some information about China," Rangachari said.

The magazine has articles from both Indian as well as Chinese writers, including diplomats and highlights the digital campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi government.

The former ambassador emphasised on the need to have more publications and other sources of information about China.

"We should look at not only journals like these but also other publications and other sources of information about China. There can be no better way to get to know about each other than a journal like this. I am hopeful of bringing an India-China dialogue," he said.

The inaugural issue contains a piece by Indian ambassador to China Ashok K Kantha who has written about the India-China Economic Cooperation and prospects of growth.

"As two of the fastest growing major economies in the world today, India and China enjoy special advantages in leveraging digital technology an entrepreneurial culture," Kantha said.
