Chennai: ‘Education in Ireland’, the national brand under the authority of the Minister for Education and Skills, responsible for the promotion of Irish higher education institutions overseas, organised an education fair recently at the Hotel Taj Coromandel in Chennai.
At the education fair, the Education in Ireland team met students and parents to showcase the Irish education system and the quality of programs.
Students and parents interacted closely with representatives of 12 Higher Education Irish Institutes (HEIs) receiving relevant information about the available courses, alumni’s success stories as well as expected ROI on education via scholarships, job security and future graduate employment opportunities.
Students at the fair were seen enquiring about disciplines such as, computer science, electronic engineering, data analytics, digital marketing, international business, MBA and dentistry.
Mr. Barry O’Driscoll, Senior Market Advisor, Enterprise Ireland said, “The number of Indian students studying in Ireland hasrisenin recent years to around 2,000. The Indian students themselves benefit, through a very real career path, a stay-back option of a year, and access to, and involvement with, the very progressive research and innovation agenda in Ireland”.
Prominent universities such as Trinity College Dublin announced scholarships worth €5000 to undergraduates, University College Dublin is providing 100% tuition fee for master programs and 50% tuition fee for one-year master programs, National University of Ireland, Galway is offering €2,750 for undergraduate and postgraduate merit scholarships each, and National College of Ireland is offering €2,950 for master programmes &€2,000 for undergraduates applicants.
At the fair, ‘Education in Ireland’ also arranged for a Live online chat from 2.00pm to 3.30pm with Indian students currently studying in Ireland to ask questions about student life in Ireland and any other query with reference to higher studies in Ireland.
