AIIMS entrance examination-

Established by an act of parliament, the All India Institute for Medical Sciences is one of the premier institutions in India. The institute aims at providing high standard of medical education and is an institution of national importance.

All India Institute for Medical Science Exam is held for the admission of students to the MBBS course offered by the institution. AIIMS Entrance Exam for MBBS course usually will be held in the month of June. 

Application forms for AIIMS are available in Mid-January from the designated State Bank of India branches across the country. The form can also be obtained by post by sending a request for form along with a Demand Draft to AIIMS. The candidates have to fill the form and send it along with required documents to AIIMS.

Pattern of examination: AIIMS Entrance for MBBS is of three and a half hours duration having 200 multiple choice and reason-assertion type questions. There are 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry and Biology and 20 questions from General Knowledge.

Eligibility criteria:  (i) Candidates who have passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English securing a minimum of 60% marks (50% in case of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Orthopaedic Physically Handicapped candidates) in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English or whose results of Class XII likely to be declared in the month July are eligible to apply. (ii) The candidate should have attained the age of 17.
 
How to apply: The Prospectus-cum-Application Form costing Rs.1000/- (Rs.800/- in case of SC/ST candidates) inclusive of examination fee can be obtained from the selective branches of State Bank of India against cash payment or by Post.

The Prospectus-cum-Application form can also be obtained by Speed Post / Registered Post by sending a written request with an account payee Bank Draft for Rs. 1050/- (Rs. 850/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of ''''M.B.B.S Entrance Examination'''' payable at New Delhi.

II) By Post: The Prospectus-cum-Application Form can also be obtained by Speed Post/Registered Post by sending a written request with an account payee Bank Draft for Rs. 1050/- (Rs.850/- for SC/ST candidates) in favour of ''M.B.B.S. Entrance Examination-YEAR'' payable at New Delhi. The Bank Draft should be valid.

The request must reach the Assistant Controller of Examinations, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110608 before the specified date. Money Order/Cheque/Postal Order/Cash or any other form of payment will NOT be accepted for postal sale.

The words ''REQUEST FOR APPLICATION FORM FOR M.B.B.S. ENTRANCE EXAMINATION'' should be written on the envelop containing request for application form, and also on top of the request letter.

The address to which Application Form is required should be written clearly in CAPITAL LETTERS and with PIN code. AIIMS will not be responsible for delay in/non-receipt of Application Form caused by ill-eligible or incomplete address.

Note:
(1) Candidates must obtain application form ONLY from an authorized branch of S.B.I. or by post from Examination Section of AIIMS. Forms obtained from an unauthorized source will be rejected.
 
(2) Candidates should get the application form as early as possible instead of waiting for the last date. If the Application Forms are sold out before the last date of sale and the same are not available, AIIMS /State Bank of India or its specified branches will not be responsible for any consequences that may arise due to non-availability of form.

In case a candidate does not get the form through Post Office in time, AIIMS will not be responsible for such lapses.
