Is there any common entrance test for the national schools?
Every Law school conducts its own entrance exam. However, the areas covered in the tests are similar and the test patterns also are broadly similar, with a little difference in emphasis on particular areas

With the increasing number of brilliant students opting for Law, the competition is on the rise. But a systematic preparation can see the student through to any top Law School.
Is there any weightage to the academic achievements in the admission process or is it only on the basis of the entrance exam ?
Most of the institutes admit students on the basis of the entrance tests only. However, some institutes like Panjab University give equal weightage to the percentage in the qualifying examination and prepare a final merit list, on the basis of performance in the entrance test and the qualifying exam. Some institutes, like ILS, Pune admit students only on the basis of the marks scored in the qualifying exam and do not conduct any entrance test.
Is there any interview after clearing the entrance exam?
There is no interview, but a counseling session is conducted, primarily for ascertaining the willingness of the candidates and to check their original documents.
