Coimbatore: A two day 'National Conference on Agricultural Scientific Tamil' began here at Tamil Nadu Agriculture University, with an aim to bring out agriculture and allied sciences and technology into Tamil language for the benefit of farmers.
The conference is being organised jointly by TNAU and Delhi-based Agricultural Scientific Tamil Society, with a theme 'Tamil can Do: Agriculture-Veterinary-Fishery.'
About 350 delegates are attending the conference and 16 books, containing nearly 800 research-articles in Tamil were released, a TNAU release said.
A thematic session was held under chairmanship of Perur Tamil College Principal, Maruthachala Adigalar in which six eminent scientists and scholars addressed on feasibility of Tamil for agricultural education and research.
TNAU Vice-Chancellor K Ramasamy inaugurated the meet.
