In the past few months job loses and no fresh employment was a common phenomenon due to the global economic slowdown.

IT industry was the most affected due to the downturn. But, in the last few weeks significant changes were found to provide some relief to those affected in recession.

IT companies have again started to swarm renowned colleges and lesser-unknown colleges for jobs opportunities through campus interview. IT majors like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, IIB, SISCO, Sophient, IBM, Convergis, Symphony services are planning for large scale recruitment in the forthcoming days through campus interview, an official sources said.

Appointment letters have been handed over to 100 students of BMS College in a college comprising of 800 students. Most of the students who are likely to complete their studies in the coming January are likely to get Rs 3 Lakhs to Rs 4.5 Lakhs per year as salary, a study reveals.

More than 50 % of the students presently studying in the final year engineering colleges in big cities like Bangalore are likely to get appointed in companies like Net-Off, HB, Arizant, Goldman Sachs, Infosys, Wipro, Maintree, HAL and BEML.

Generally, IT companies target final year students. But, those who have completed engineering earlier and possess experience feel that they need to be given the first priority.

As the new BPO companies are not coming up and as the dollars value slowly decreasing, students outlook has started to change. Most of the students are not like before, but they seem to be contented with a salary between Rs 1.8 Lakhs to Rs 5 Lakhs per annum.

Since positive changes are happening, presently IT companies in India are involved in carrying out rapid expansion works. Again the outsourcing sector is all set to expand as it had boomed two years back. In this situation, as companies do not want to miss any chances to due to the lack of human resources they are hurriedly creating new positions.

However, the awareness about the companies among the students seemed to be very less.  In a situation were the students who had completed their UG studies are focusing on higher education, the present changes seems to give hope to IT students.
