Cinema requires several talented and skillful persons like side artists, director, assistant directors, producer, editors, sound and light engineers, stage decorators, hairstylists, makeup persons and music directors. Apart from this the list stretches further longer to scriptwriters, lyrist and singers.
Producer of a movie has all the freedom to choose the director, story and screenplay. Then the director decides how to shoot the film according to the story provided by the producer. All other activities of a movie like editing, song and dance are carried out according to the directors plan. Persons working in this industry need to be skilled, possess good presence of mind and work hard.
Right from costume designers to make up artists and dancers everyone has a significant role to play in the production of a movie. Apart from developing in life they can also find a permanent place in the cinema industry by persons who possess all these skills or have little knowledge with the opportunity that they have obtained. It provides three-year diploma course. Those having completed degree studies can apply. The course covers cinematography, direction and editing.
Persons completed plus two can join audiography training. Selection would be carried out through an entrance examination.

It provides three-year PG diploma courses. Those having completed degree studies can apply. It provides specialization in direction & screenplay, cinematography, editing and audiography. Persons completed degree in physics can apply for sound recording. The applicant should be below 30 years of age.
Tamil Nadu Film and Television institute, CIT, Campus, Taramani, Chennai 600 113
It offers three-year diploma courses. Those completed degree studies are eligible to apply for direction and screenplay writing.
The other courses offered here are diploma in cinematography, film processing, sound recording and engineering. Those students completed plus two with chemistry and physics as subjects and students completed diploma studies in electrical and electronics can apply.
Persons who have completed plus two and those with certificate course in acting after completing 10th can both apply for editing.
Jyoti Chitraban Film and Television Institute College, Kakalipara, Guwahati- 781 019.
It provides three-year diploma course in photography, audiography and video editing. It also provides certificate course in acting. Those completed 10th and plus two with subjects like chemistry and physics can apply. Announcement regarding this would be released in the month of March. Only those who pass the entrance examination would be selected. The applicants should be below 23 years of age. Training would begin in the month of June.
