Chandigarh: Government teachers in Punjab will soon be able to file online applications to seek approval for leave.
Punjab education minister Aruna Chaudhary said a portal is being developed by the education department for the purpose.
The minister said the department has set a target of three months to develop the portal and make it operational.
Currently, teachers have to visit the district education offices or the head office for getting their leave approved.
"But, with the operationalising of this portal, the teacher will upload his/her application on the portal for approval which will be accorded by the competent authority," she said in a statement.
