Nethaji Subash National Institute of Sports is an institution that strives to bring out lot of developments in the field sports.
It functions at a place called Patiala in the state of Punjab. It holds the pride of being Asias largest sports education institution.
The frontage of the college that was built by the Maharaja of Patiala appears like a huge palace. It functions with the objective of producing outstanding sports persons and excellent coaches both at the national and international level.
This institution was started as National Institute of Sports in the year 1961, later in the year 1973 it was renamed as Nethaji Subash National Institute of Sports.
It spreads over an area of 268 acres and has all the facilities needed for the training of students, coaches and national level sports personalities. Presently, it comprises of stadium for Gymnastics, Swimming pool, Indoor stadium, Cycling velodrome, Tennis courts, Hockey ground, Athletic Track and field ground all to international standards.

Further this institution conducts several national level competitions. It also strives to develop sports at the grass roots.
Special trainings are provided for woman to achieve in the field of sports. It conducts school level competitions to nurture young sports persons.
