We usually see that children want to take up their parents profession.
Nothing wrong about it. Instead, choose a career keeping in mind of your abilities and your interest. Do you know the proper time to decide about a right career? Here are few tips towards it.
We must understand that desire alone should not decide our future career or profession. Many believe that they should go as bus driver only when they are young. Some aspire to become a pilot and some desire to become an actor. Most these desires have come only through fascination. We decide to take-up these professions only because some particular aspect of it captivated us. However, our parents desires and plans are quiet contrary.
As we grow up, we may start loosing interest in a particular job. Only few years back the term career planning has been widely used and very few persons from some particular cities and parents of some specific departments alone were aware of this term.
Now, apart from parents, students also possess fair amount of awareness about many aspects after the globalisation that started in 90s and subsequent to stupendous growth in the field of media. The present generation students have also a sound understanding on their strengths and weaknesses, apart from having the competence to decide whether to become an engineer, doctor or biotechnologist.
Only if this awareness starts to permeate into all the sections we can concur that it is a sign of knowledge revolution. It is not compulsory only to accomplish what your parents failed to achieve in determining your future. Nowadays, you have more scope for choosing career and numerous opportunities on hand in various fields than your parents days. Our desires and objectives are determined by the social environment that we grow up. Our social background gives a warning whether it would be feasible or not when we decide to select a course that is not favorable for our environment.
