Kolkata/Baharampur: Five children received electric shock after coming in contact with dangling electric wire during Independence day celebrations at a primary school in Suti in Murshidabad district of West Bengal.
District police sources said while national tricolour was being hoisted on an iron pole, the electric wire suddenly came in contact with the pole and five children standing nearby received electric shock.
Of the five injured, two were taken to nearby hospital while three others left for home after primary treatment.
The hospitalised children are out of danger now, the sources added.
