In this swiftly changing world, persons willing to keep themselves away from diseases are forced to move towards right food habits.

Hence, at the moment the want for dietician has increased enormously more than ever before. Presently many youngsters have very bad food habits. For example, eating at the wrong time, eating fast food items that has very high calorific value, constantly sitting in front of the computers, traveling on vehicles for long distances have become the root cause for all the health problems. As a result, problems like heart ailments, diabetics and blood pressure have started to come up.

Dieticians role is to advice people on the correct requirement of calories according to the nature of work, the right food to consume and those to avoid.  The advice of the dietician is needed to reduce weight of those who are obese and to build good physique for those who are underweight.  It has become necessary to go in search of dieticians for healthy living and long term health. Persons with these health problems are advised by the doctor to take a consultation with dieticians.  According to the doctors recommendations, the dietician advises a suitable diet programme to the patients. As a result, the need for dietician has tremendously increased as never before.

Everybody has different body composition. Each ones lifestyle and conveniences of differ enormously.  Hence, the diet recommendation for each one may vary.

Persons willing to become a dietician need to show interest towards subjects like anatomy and biology and should posses sound knowledge on food and nutrition.  It is also essential to be a good counselor who can communicate all that they know very clearly so that others can understand.

Employment opportunities are available at fitness centers, beauty saloons, hospitals and health centers. It is also possible to work as dietician for any sports team or any individual. They can also have their own dietary clinic.

After plus two, Food and Nutrition comes as specialized subject in the home science and M.Sc studies. Apart from this, specialized diploma courses in nutrition are also available. During the course, students are sent for training under the guidance of an experienced dietician in hospital. After completing this training it would be helpful at work. Arts and science courses are also available in this field.
