Apart from being Indias first Energy University, the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) is also Asia's first and lone Energy & Core Sector University.
It was established at Dehradun in the state of Uttarakhand in the year 2003, later its branches were also started in Dehradun, Gurgoan and Rajamundry.
This University offers over 35 graduate, post graduate and doctoral programs to more than 3900 students in the high growth sectors of Oil & Gas, Power, Aviation, Shipping, Automobile, Infrastructure and Logistics & Supply Chain. Further, it also offers studies in departments like Information Technology, Electronics, legal studies on Energy and Management.
