Ranchi: The much-awaited IIM, Ranchi, is almost set to admit about 60 to 80 students for its first batch of academic year from mid 2010.
Indian Institute of Managment, Ranchi, Chairman R C Bhargav told a news conference here today that with the infrastructure and help extended by the Jharkhand government, the top management wing would be able to take at least 60 students for the seession expected to begin from June to July this year.
Mr Bhargav, also the chairman of Maruti Udyog Limited (MUL), said his successful experience with car sector would help the new project put in ground in short period.
The chairman assured that the students, who aspired to take admission in IIM, Ranchi, should not be concerned about its standard as IIM, Calcutta, the first managemnt institute of its kind in the country, would be the mentor here.
The faculty members of Kolkata would be attending classes here as distance between Ranchi and Kolkata was not at all strenuous. Advertisement for the first session would be out by end of this month with students securing at least 95 per cent in CAT, 2009, would be elligible to apply. On fee structure, the chairman said it was fixed at Rs three lakh per annum.
