RJD-LJP student units force closure of educational institutes- 16-Feb-2010
Patna: Members of student wings of opposition RJD and LJP today forced closure of universities and colleges, paralyzing teaching and administrative works at different places in Bihar.
Hundreds of students moved in procession in Darbhanga, Bhagalpur, Chapra and Muzaffarpur and tried to enforce the closure to press for CBI probe into the death of two students during agitation against the coaching institutes in Patna last week.
They also demanded compensation of Rs 20 lakh to families of each of the dead students and a law to control the functioning of private coaching institutes in the state. In Patna hundreds of activists of Chhatra Rashtriya Janata Dal and Chhatra LJP enforced the closure in Patna University and demonstrated in support of their demands.
Teaching and administrative works at various colleges and universities were affected due to the stir, Chhatra RJD president Swadesh Kumar said.
