Chennai: Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), a Chennai based management institution and Christian Medical College (CMC) Vellore launched their Executive Diploma in Healthcare Management Programme.
Commenting on this occasion, Dr. Edwin Joe said “Previously, the healthcare system was predominantly doctor oriented. But now the scenario has changed with management playing a significant role in healthcare. Improved patient care can be achieved through successful management of hospital operations and services. This course aims to provide management skills that can be applied on a day to day basis in their organizations which will in turn enable them to be successful healthcare administrators.”

Xavier mentioned “This joint certification programme is designed to equip
professionals in the healthcare industry to take successful management
decisions. The 1 year course caters to healthcare professionals with work
experience of 3 to 4 years. Topics such as public health, patient safety,
medical ethics etc. will be taught by CMC Vellore faculty while business
management topics will be covered by LIBA faculty.”

Samuel addressed the students saying, “In this day and age, core competency and
team work aids one in succeeding in their profession. This course launched
today is aimed and designed to bridge the gap between clinical and business
world and create leaders in the healthcare industry”.
The
programme was inaugurated by Dr. Edwin Joe, Director of Medical Education,
Govt. of Tamil Nadu in the presence of Fr. Victor Roch, Dean Administration,
LIBA, Dr. M.J Xavier, Chairperson of LIBA Management Development Centre and Dr.
Samuel N J David, Head of Department, Hospital Management Studies & Staff
Training & Development, CMC Vellore amongst faculty members and students of
LIBA.
